The PRS JMOD 100 was a collaboration between PRS and John Mayer to provide him with an amp that would end his search for unicorn amps. What they came up with is a 100w high headroom beast that creates broad and big clean tones. It also offers a separate gain stage to kick on for harmonically rich drive.

As a John Mayer fan, I’m so happy to have this amp in my possession, and even more excited to offer this Tone Match pack to you all. I captured its tone at various settings that work wonderfully with all guitar pickups. I hope you enjoy this amp as it brings you one step closer to the man’s tone!

This pack contains 9 Tone Match presets (amp/cab with Tone Match/reverb) captured with an SM57 and Royer 121, as well as a full preset with effects to show how they react to drives.

Legend:

JM: various documented John Mayer settings

B: various tones with the bright switch

Mids: pushed mid range

FLAT: Flat EQ

Sweet Highs: smooth and roll back high end

Gain Stage: lead and mid breakup

*This pack is compatible with ALL Fractal units (FM3, FM9, and AXE III)

*These presets are saved as FAS Bundles. Please see the READ ME file included in the downloads on how to import.

*DO NOT use Fractbot to upload presets! Please refer to the FAQ page on best practices for uploading presets.

Great Tone Match

Probably the most surprising match for me was the lead gain stage. That is an absolute cracker. The other tones are also excellent and cover the JM spectrum that JK has done so well a number of times now. With this one again Jon proves his tone matches are top class. Sounds cliche now with where modeling is at but thier is real dimension to the captures which give you those it’s an amp in the room moments and then you realise it’s your factual box and studio monitors! That’s pretty impressive.
